What listeners say about the CD:

This CD is a triumphant achievement on its own, and it is an essential accompaniment to Elizabeth's book, The Last Aria. Listening to the music while reading the novel is an extra-special experience.

Joe A. Escondido, CA

Now that I've read the translations, I'm even more impressed at Elizabeth's genius in choosing exactly the right music to bring depth and richness to her story. I'm going to reread the book and listen to the arias again... and again.

Lily Vondenfelden, San Diego, CA

"The Last Aria"  CD $10.00

Several scenes in the The Last Aria book feature well-known operatic arias to communicate, or to color the scene. If you are an opera buff and know these arias, you will immediately understand why the aria was chosen. However, if you are not familiar, you can rely on the translations made available within the text of the story to help you. That, along with the companion recording, will add a richness to your reading experience, making it a multisensory one. You will also gain a more in-depth understanding of the story line as well as the arias used.

A companion compact disk recording has been made to accompany this book. The companion recording contains all of the arias mentioned in the story along with a few extra at the end. For a richer experience, pay the appropriate tracks where indicated. This will bring you closer to the story and illuminate your imagination even more.

This recording was produced by me and recorded by Patricio Pickslay of Rhythm Coalition Recording Studios in Hillcrest, California. I am joined by accompanist John Danke; Soprano Jaimie Korkos, who sings Lilly’s arias as well as the “damsel in distress”; and Tenor Jef Olson, who sings as the fictional, long-dead tenor, Giuseppe Ruscello. The recording contains arias and piano compositions by Puccini, Handel, Canteloube, Donizetti, Wagner, Ponchielli, Chopin, Verdi and Schumann. In keeping with the story, a few of the arias on this recording were intentionally made to sound as though they are coming through an old Victrola player.

All pieces recorded with permission.
