What recent students say:

"I felt that I had to write to you and thank you for the amazing cooking (and wine tasting) class that you held on Saturday 5 June 2011 at the Botanical Gardens in San Diego.

When we booked to come to the class I had no idea what to expect and I went with no preconceptions and no expectations. It was bought for me as a gift and I honestly didn’t do any research into who you were and what it was that I was going into.

By the end of the class I could not stop smiling. The food was incredible, the wine was amazing and the whole experience left me with such an amazingly good feeling! You are an enchanting person who has a gift when it comes to entertaining the people in the class, while teaching and captivating everyone who is around you. You have an amazingly good air about you that is infectious and so wonderful to experience!

It is hard for me to properly express just how much I really loved the whole class but I hope that I have been able to convey, even if it is just a little bit, how much I treasured the whole experience!

So, thank you so much for what you do.  I wish you all the best for the future."  ~ Megan

"I was so excited after your class I when right out and bought a pressure cooker, as soon as I got it home I made spaghetti sauce. It really was the best sauce I think I have ever made. The spaghetti sauce took about 20 minutes. I just finished making the applesauce. My husband loved it. Thank you so much for a great class. I look forward to next week's class. Thanks again"  ~Colleen Devan

"Being with Chef Elizabeth is a delicious pleasure."  ~Lou Guild

"...I attended your last class (great salad/manicotti), which I thoroughly enjoyed – enjoyed so much I made the dinner this past Sunday!  The best part of the dinner was – coincidently, I was playing your CD (perhaps the first one you put out with the lady under water).  While you were singing Ava Maria I mentioned to everyone that the beautiful woman singing was the woman who gave me the recipes and they got such a kick out of The Opera Singing Chef, it was so much fun – breaking bread while listening to great music – all gifts from you.

I also wanted to mention how much fun it has been to make your recipes from past classes – everything is so easy, they’re recipes you’ll really use – I’ve made the chicken over the portabella/pesto mushrooms many times – inside which works great on the stovetop into the oven and also outside on the grill – it’s really a versatile recipe that is fun to make either inside or outside.

Thanks for inspiring those around you – you have combined all of your loves in life – music, writing and cooking, and you share your gifts with us all and I really appreciate it.  That’s what makes it so special – amateur cooks like me are out to please the people, warm your guests with comfort food and break a little bread together, and you give us all just that.

I loved your soup and colcannon class last year and I’m sure it will be a great success again this year.

Take care and see you soon." ~Patty Mekita
